Don’t do it. Why? For the thrill? Go do something else that does not include the risk of death.

Since I don’t know where in GA you are it’s hard to say where the closest one is to you. But I would recommend the Farm good place lots of fun and good people

Prices From The Farm’s Web Site
    Tandem Skydive - only $159!!!
$249.00 for the 1st jump course AFF Level 1 jump.
AFF Levels 2-3: $170 each, AFF Levels 4-7: $150 each.
    AFF Package Deal (Jumps 1-7) - $1,099. A license package (jumps 1-25) $1,699.

You can also look at the United States Parachute Association Website for Member Drop zone (USPA) also has information on the different types of Learning style there are (More then just tandems are options)

Dropzone.com also has a DZ locater and review of the different dropzones

To take note of the consumer alert on USPA website and stay away from 1800skyride or Thrill Planet nothing but problems ! deal with the drop zone you chose directly

Good Luck have fun and Blue Skies

Tandems go for anywhere between $150 and $250. It depends on the dropzone. So you should call you’re local dz and find out.

There are a couple websites you need to check out to get good info on skydiving.
is the website of the United States Parachute Association, the governing body for sport parachuting in the United States. There is a list of member dropzones on the website along with all sorts of great info on the sport.
is another great resource for everything about skydiving and some BASE too.
is just fun and a good place to feel like you’re at the drop zone when you can’t physically be there.

Make sure that you contact the drop zone you want to jump at directly. There are a few scams out there, one of which is 1800skyride. They will take your money and send you to any dropzone they want too but only about three dz’s in the country except skyride tickets. So please, please, please contact the dropzone directly.

The tandem is a great jump. I’d get video too. I made one tandem a little over two years ago and came back to start student training (good info about student training at uspa.org) and get my license. I’ve been jumping for two years and have a few hundred jumps. I love this sport and I sincerely hope that you’ll become a full time skydiver and I’ll be able to make some jumps with you at a boogie!

    Blue Skies!
